I dropped the youngest of the two kids off today. I told her she was going to summer school because she scarped by Grade Two by the skin of her teeth … and she is still missing two of her front ones! It will be more like boot camp and I’m sure she will return totally worn out and in much better shape. (Thank you Kari).
The oldest kid is 10, so she will stay home but under supervision. (Thank you Joanna and Suzzana). I’m sure she will get into trouble, but since my last long trip I have secured all the speakers to the walls so she can’t knock them over. I’m still trying to figure out how to repair the dent in the stove. It was a very heavy speaker.
Here’s a pic of the kids from January 2010.
I spent most this afternoon futzing around with the windshield. Yamaha calls it a “quick release” windshield, but it’s not. (Thank you Judy) To make a long story short, the good people over at Flintstone Glass and Mirror in Mississauga drilled a few holes in the windshield so I now have the windshield at a height that is made for me.
Tomorrow’s major task is to make a cover to fill in the gap around the headlight as result of the windshield adjustment. I think leather, Velcro, and Crazy Glue will be the perfect combination.
There were other little tasks completed today, such as cleaning everything off the laptop that I won’t need with me, and then backing up all my files and burning discs. It’s amazing how much time little stuff eats up.
And as every post should have at least one pic, (bonus, here’s the second one), here’s a shot I took in early July. My riding buddy and I stopped for lunch by the water in Lagoon City (they aren’t lagoons, they are really canals) and this lovely great blue heron landed on the other side of the canal while we were eating.
